Volcán Poás
Definitely, one of the places you should visit in Costa Rica… The geological formation of the Poás Volcano massif is widely recognized as one of the most striking strato-volcanoes in the world due to its changing behavior and morphology in the chemical composition of its phreatic lagoon. It is easy to access the main viewpoint after a simple 10-minute walk, from where you can observe (even with little cloud cover) the main crater of the mountain.

La Paz Waterfall Garden
La Paz Waterfall Garden is a private cloud forest reserve near the Poas Volcano National Park that you can combine too with the volcano on the same day. It offers a great spot to see some animals, butterflies, birds and of course waterfalls among other attractions. It is an easy and beautiful drive along the way after an hour in the middle of Derry farms, coffee, and strawberry fields. The Park offers trails and a buffet lunch for their visitors as well as giftshops.

Rescate Wildlife Rescue Center
Just 15 minutes from our location. Recommended for families, the Rescate Wildlife Rescue Center rescues over 3,000 wild animals every year. Roughly 2% of the animals they receive cannot be released back into the wild because they have been too badly injured, or they have been kept as pets and are too used to humans. These animals are provided with lifetime care in Rescate Wildlife Rescue Center's Lifetime Care Sanctuary.

Sarapiquí River
Sarapiquí area is located in the northern Caribbean lands of Costa Rica offering an exuberant tropical rain forest and many spots for bird watching, rafting tours, chocolate tours, horseback riding among other activities. It is recommended to leave early since the driving takes around 2 hours, however it is worth it. The main attraction is the Sarapiqui River which runs along the Central Volcanic Mountain Range to get into San Juan River which is the natural border between Nicaragua and Costa Rica.

Alajuela is the second largest province of Costa Rica and the downtown is just 15 minutes away from the property. Tio José Coffee & Chocolate Tour
A working coffee farm since 1908, the Tio José Estate has been growing coffee in Costa Rica for more than 100 years. Today, the farm uses the same century-old water mill imported from England to power their processing plant – a rustic building recently designated a historical and architectural heritage site by the Costa Rican government. Tio José offers guide tours showing the entire process since the coffee arrives from their plantations until the roasted process and its final presentation.

Blue Falls or/and Tesoro Escondido Waterfalls
Recommended for lovers of hiking and waterfalls. Located on the western slope of the Poas volcano, this section of the rainforest offers adventure activities visiting the ¨Bajos del Toro¨ waterfalls and horseback riding tours. From here you can follow the route to the Arenal Volcano and La Fortuna. A local guide must be scheduled for walks longer than 6 hours. Transportation service and/or vehicle rental available.
